Abstract Objective To observe the efect of cheek acupuncture therapy assisted with general anesthesia ongastrointestinal reactions after uterine fibroid removal surgery. Methods 134 patients with uterine fibroids wereselected as the study subjects, all of whom received uterine fibroid removal surgery under general anesthesia. Theywere randomly divided into two groups, with 67 cases in each group. The control group were received adjuvanttherapy with aromatherapy after surgery. The experimental group were received cheek acupuncture therapy as anauxiliary treatment. The perioperative basic physical signs, analgesic and sedative elfects, postoperativegastrointestinal reactions, physical and mental state improvement, and surgical stress were compared between the two groups of patients. Results Under difierent anesthesia regimens, the HR and MAP of the experimental group at T2 and T3 were lower than those of the control group , and the difference was statistically significant( P<0.05 ). TheVAS and INVR scores of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group at 1 and 3 h after surgery,while the RSS and GC0 scores were higher than those of the control group ( P<0.05 ). The ineidence of postoperativegastrointestinal reactions in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group ( P< 0.05 ). Thenorepinephrine( NE ) and cortiso ( Cor) of the experimental group T4 were lower than those of the control group( P<005 ). Conclusion Buccal needle therapy assisted with general anesthesia can stabilize the basic signs of patientsundergoing uterine fibroid removal surgery during the perioperative period, enhance the analgesic and sedative effectsof anesthesia , reduce the risk of gastrointestinal reactions, improve physical and mental health , and alleviate surgicastress reactions, all of which have positive significance.
