Abstract Objective 'To analyze the application effeet and safety of intramedullary nail fixation in patientswith traumatic tibial shalt fracture. Methods 1 10 patients with traumatic tibial shaft fracture were selectedand divided into the control group and observation group by random number table method, with 55 cases ineach group. 'The control group were treated with conventional internal fixation , while the observation groupwere treated with intramedullary nail fixation. The surgieal conditions and postoperative complications oftwo groups of patients were compared. Followed up for 6 months, and the reeovery of bone and jointfunetion and structure were compared between the two groups during the follow-up period. Results Thesurgical time, intraoperative bleeding volume, disappearance time of postoperative fracture line, and incidenee of postoperative complications in the observation group were lower than that in the control group .with a statistically significant difference ( P<0.05 ). During the follow-up period, the tibial angle, thecaster angle of the medial tibial platform and the caster angle of the lateral tibial platform in the observationgroup were greater than those in the control group. The Lysholm seore and HSS seore of the knee joint inthe observation group were higher than those in the control group at 1 and 6 months after surgery ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion The use of intramedullary nail fixation for the treatment of traumatie tibial shaft fracturecan enhance the surgical elficacy and safety of patients, and has positive significanee in promoting therecovery of bone and joint structure and function.
